Free Shared Dish (FSD)
A FSD receives its signal from a single small satellite dish, usually fixed on the
roof and out of sight.
The signals are distributed by an amplifier unit that requires no mains power supply
of its own, and can be located near the dish without the need for extra electrical
works.
The cabling to each flat connected is routed externally, so there is minimum upheaval
for other residents. The only cost you will incur is the outlay for the electrical
earth bonding of the equipment, which must (by law) be carried out or certified by
a qualified electrician.
The location of all the equipment is agreed with you or your property manager at
the time of the survey, and in most cases this is the extent of your involvement
with the process. You just leave Futuretv to look after all the organisation and
administration associated with your system.
FSD is designed to cater for all the flats in a property and, once the system is
up and running with the initial flats connected, additional connections can easily
be made when more of your residents choose to subscribe to Sky TV.
Every connection is Sky+ HD ready, so all your residents can take advantage of the
revolutionary Sky+ HD integrated digital recorder and satellite receiver.
